11th Annual Warriors on the Water in Jordan Lake, North Carolina

Talk about a soak’r, the 11th Annual Warriors on the Water Military Appreciation Tournament was held 22 April, 2016 for over a 150 Soldiers from all branches of the Army and Airman.  Jordan Lake High Point Boat landing kicked-off with the Posting of the Colors and the National Anthem while hosted by a super committee of volunteers and retirees. An official miniature American Flag was attached to the light pole on board that has been the icon and symbol of our freedom and Warriors on the Water.  While in line for launching, each volunteer boat was given a bag https://psbassguidefl.com/blog/wp-admin/post-new.phpor breakfast and snacks and met up with their Soldier at the ramp.  I was fortunate to have the honor of  spending a day on the lake with Travis Taylor, a Field Grade Officer,  who was just arriving to Ft. Bragg, NC to take an Command for the next two years.  A true gentlemen and graduate of the Citadel.

Back at our soak’r day, she was fouled from thunderstorms and we manage to catch wet clothes and get to know one another, share in guided fishing techniques and had a great day trying to catch that elusive Jordan Lake Black Bass.

There was a nice message on Facebook waiting on me after 751 miles of travel back to Kissimmee Florida from Travis Taylor:

“Thanks again for supporting Warriors on the Water. Had a blast today despite the weather and stingy bass! Best of luck. Hope to get a chance to try again one day, maybe in Florida. Airborne Sergeant Major!”

The 2017, 12th Annual Warriors on the Water sign-up is on 9/11, 2016.
